Creepage Distance Definition:
The shortest distance over the surface of the insulation between two conductive parts.
Clearance Distance Definition:
The shortest distance through air between two conductive parts.
Model CCK-01 Creepage and Clearance kit:
Kit contains all four of these valuable time saving tools... the CC-23 Feeler Gauge, the OCC-20 Optical Comparator,
the 54-200-000 Digital Calipers and the 10-871-2 Digital Micrometer.
Everything you need for Creepage and Clearance testing!
Model CC-23 Feeler Gauges:
A MUST HAVE item for measuring creepage and clearance distances throughout your products
Saves an invaluable amount of time measuring electrical spacings. Check insulation and other spacing in office machines,
data-processing and medical equipment, power supplies, transformers, P.C. Boards, etc. These are the ONLY gauges
available which are in the "Random" dimensions of the international Standards. Dimensions for the 23 individual
gauges include (in mm): 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 2.0, 2.4, 2.5, 2.8, 3.0, 3.2, 3.3, 3.5, 4.0,
4.5, 5.0, 5.6, 6.0, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5, 7.0 and 8.0. Each of these gauges and the attachments ring are made
of resilient hardness Stainless steel.
Model OC-20 Optical Comparator:
The ONLY way to reliably measure narrow creepage distances between traces
on printed circuit boards and within flex circuits.
Comes with four separate reticles, all the most popular for
engineers and technicians:
0.005 in/div; 0.1 mm/div; 1/64 in/div; and Degrees/div.
Model 54-200-777 Digital Caliper:
Fast, easy to use, accurate and with exceptional "user features".
Simply push one button to switch between inches and millimeters.
Also has hold and floating zero features. Can be interfaced to
a computer for measurement, monitoring,
memory and provides a printout of its work. Case provided.

Model 10-881-1 Digital Micrometer:
The new breed of digital electronic micrometers featuring the latest
state of the art in micro electronics. Simple to operate. Very accurate.
Balanced for convenient single hand operation. Perfect for measuring insulation thickness!
Includes hold and floating zero features. Furnished in fitted case.

The Sharp Edge Tester is used for determining the sharpness of edges of electrical equipment and other consumer products. This meets Underwriters Laboratories 1439 and Society of Manufacturing Engineers requirements. It consists of a clam-shell type housing which fits into the palm of the hand. Features include a compact arm, sealed ball bearings to reduce friction and a spring which meets the latest UL force requirement. All moving mechanisms are protected against dirt and breakage.
The SET-50 is also used for compliance with US Federal regulations for consumer products. It can also be used for some Canadian regulations. The US Federal regulation is Title 16, Volume 2, Chapter 11, Part 1500.
Model SET-50: consists of the Sharp Edge Tester instrument.
Tape Caps model TC-3 are sold separately. There are three pre-assembled tapes on a plastic cap which slips onto the tool for testing. This Tape Cap meets the UL requirement of three tapes: one layer of 3M Scotch Foam, 1/16" thick black; one layer of 3M Scotch Foam, 1/32" thick, white; and one layer of skived Teflon Tape.
An additional bonus on the Tape Cap is a 1/16" wide guide line, which is on the center of the cap and helps the inspector performing the test to center the tape and tool onto the edge being tested.
The Tape Cap is the most efficient way for the inspector to easily and quickly conduct multiple tests on the manufacturing line without having to install three different layers of tape onto the tool prior to testing. Each time a test is performed with the Tape Cap, it can be removed, identified and replaced within seconds thus providing more tests in less time to facilitate inspection reports.
Used to test resistance to abrasion on insulating materials and conformal coatings. Hardened steel pin, the end is a cone having a top angle of 40 degrees, tip is rounded with a radius of 0.25 ± 0.02 mm. Complies with many Standards, including IEC based Standards. Entire scratch test apparatus available.
